Become a Friend of Downtown!
Dear Community Members,
Can you believe we’ll be celebrating our 20th Annual Holiday Stroll the day after Thanksgiving? Downtown Main Street is proud to bring an old-fashioned Holiday experience to downtown and we can’t wait to see you as you stroll downtown, taking in the live music, burn barrels, and the new-this-year stilt walkers and Polar Express experience! Downtown businesses will be hopping and full of wonder and delight. You can wander downtown and look into the beautiful window displays all depicting a different Christmas movie as their theme.
All this is to say that we invite you to come downtown. But not just during the Holiday Stroll--we want you to visit all year!
The job of Downtown Main Street is to keep the heart of our town vibrant and healthy. It goes without saying that this past year and a half was challenging for everyone, but even during challenging times, our community rose to the occasion. You supported our local businesses, you gave money when we needed to fundraise for various efforts, and you ordered take out to help our restaurants survive.
It may be the mission of Downtown Main Street to keep downtown alive, but we certainly cannot do it alone. Programming and new projects like the addition of nine new sculptures downtown and eight mosaic benches with our Art in the Heart of Red Wing Art Walk are not free. We use volunteers as much as possible, but it still takes staff and overhead to make these things happen. So now, we are asking for you to support our organization.
Please consider becoming a friend of Downtown Main Street. We appreciate any and all contributions and thank you in advance for supporting us. We have more we need to do, and your tax-deductible donation will allow us to keep the momentum going. With friends like you, we can invest more time, energy, and love into downtown and the West End District.
See you downtown!
